CurTec cares about the future of packaging. Guided by our sustainability vision, we aim to reduce the use of finite resources and minimize carbon emissions through smarter design. The new ECO LITE drums are the result of that ambition — a sustainable innovation that combines renewable materials, optimized design, and transport efficiency to achieve the lowest carbon footprint in their class.*
Watch how ECO LITE drums achieve the lowest carbon footprint in their class — and how thoughtful design turns sustainability into performance:
ECO LITE drums are made from a blend of 30% biobased and 70% fossil-based plastic. The renewable portion comes from plant sources and helps lower the carbon footprint of each drum. By using fewer fossil resources, ECO LITE drums contribute to a greener, more responsible supply chain.
Smart design decisions have reduced both material use and weight. Molded handgrips replace mounted ones, and the walls of the drum and lid have been made thinner without sacrificing strength. For the first time, CurTec has introduced an integrated, injection-molded gasket that provides a moisture-tight closure — eliminating the need for separate rubber seals and improving recyclability.
A tapered shape allows more empty drums to fit on a single pallet. This small but effective improvement reduces the number of pallets needed for transport, saving space, lowering fuel consumption, and further shrinking the overall carbon footprint.
ECO LITE drums reflect CurTec’s ongoing promise to design packaging that protects valuable materials while caring for the planet. From renewable materials to circular design principles, every innovation brings us closer to a more sustainable packaging future.
