CurTec is proud to have sponsored the 2025 Tides expedition, organized by the Circolo Speleologico Romano in Papua New Guinea, providing our reliable plastic screw lid drums for the safe transport of food and supplies. The expedition, which lasted 45 days, saw three members of the team—Guido Baroncini Turricchia, Manfredi Ciminale, and Ermete Ricci—cross over 100 kilometers of equatorial forest.

Our high performance plastic drums played a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of the supplies during the journey. These robust, food-safe drums are designed to protect against moisture ingress and are ideal for such extreme environments. After the expedition, part of the drums were donated to local communities for reuse, supporting sustainable practices.

The team also made significant contributions to scientific research, conducting topographic surveys on over 5 kilometers of new tunnels, expanding the Irou-Bableru-Lubu karst system to over 11 kilometers. Along the way, they documented stunning natural phenomena, such as large waterfalls, underground lakes, and vast caverns, all while fostering meaningful connections with the local communities who live in this rich and culturally complex environment.

CurTec is proud to support expeditions like the 2025 Tides, where our products not only ensure the safety and success of the journey but also contribute to local sustainability efforts.
