CurTec considers it important to give back to society. In the context of CSR, it therefore makes money available annually for social sponsorship. Employees may nominate charities and a special committee determines which projects may receive sponsorship money.

In addition to the Food Bank in Gilze-Rijen, which has been awarded an amount of €5,000, the following charities have been chosen in 2024:

Op Den Alpe Foundation

Op Den Alpe Foundation

Awarded sponsorship amount € 1,000

This foundation supports people with cancer. The foundation tries to make the disease a little more bearable with, among other things, pampering days, movie evenings and flowers. She also provides financial support for the purchase of a hair piece when necessary and provides information at primary schools in the municipality of Gilze-Rijen.

Over the past year, Max de Waard has experienced what the foundation's volunteers do to support people and how much free time they invest in it. That is what motivated him to propose the foundation.

Poppy's

Poppy’s

Awarded sponsorship amount € 1,500

Poppy's takes its name from the poppy - a flower that looks fragile but has unprecedented powers and an impressive healing effect. The center supports people affected by cancer. It offers a place for them to be together with peers and people who know what they are going through. It also organizes individual and joint activities.

Manon Bloemscheer became aware of Poppy's through her friend Olga, who is closely involved as a volunteer. Poppy's was only established last year and depends on sponsorship money for further development. Manon is very fond of the center in Dongen.

Dongevallei Lions Club

Dongevallei Lions Club

Awarded sponsorship amount € 2,000

The Dongevallei Lions Club is committed to the community and organizes activities to promote social well-being. It raises money for charities, helps vulnerable people, promotes friendships between members and encourages a sense of responsibility towards society. One of their charities is supporting the Food Bank in Dongen.

Thanks to his girlfriend, who is a club member, Joeri Arnouts knows that every contribution is welcome and necessary, and has therefore nominated the Lions Club so that they can continue to support charities such as the Food Bank.

St. Ambrosius Beekeepers Association

St. Ambrosius Beekeepers Association

Awarded sponsorship amount € 3,000

The association of beekeepers from Gilze is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. She is involved in beekeeping and is committed to improving conditions for honey bees and other pollinating insects. To promote biodiversity in the region, the association wants to create wide flower strips next to existing and planned walking routes so that wild bees, butterflies and other insects can find food, shelter and reproduce.

Jurgen Arts, who knows the association through his wife Lilian, thought it was a great initiative and, in order to contribute to its financing, he nominated it as a sponsorship target.

De Zonnebloem Foundation

De Zonnebloem Foundation

Awarded sponsorship amount € 2,500

Everyone belongs and everyone can participate. Only for some people this is easier said than done. Older people with physical limitations in particular often have nowhere to turn and are therefore in danger of becoming socially isolated. Volunteers from De Zonnebloem (= Sunflower) seek out these people and ensure that they too get a feeling of belonging with a visit, outing or, for example, Easter or Christmas breakfast.

Cees Snoeren has a lot of respect for that and that is why he has nominated De Zonnebloem as a sponsorship target.
