This is not a cooler*

After a year of campaigning online and in-person for Rectangular Drums, the most common comment from visitors about this new packaging is “Nice cooler!”. Frankly, it resembles a (nice) cooler… but it is not.
* It is actually a sophisticated packaging designed for storage and transportation of valuable pharmaceutical and chemical products such as tablets, capsules, powders and other products that represent high value and need optimum protection.
Optimal pallet load
Agreed, it is a rectangular pack, just like a cooler, and you are used to round packs from CurTec, but there is a good reason for that. Rectangular Drums reduce lost space between packs on a pallet and thus increase the pallet density by up to 40% (depending on the pallet size).
In addition, they are tapered which improves volume efficiency on a pallet. Both properties contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of a supply chain and lowering the cost of transport, storage and handling.
Sliding lid closure
No screw lid? Correct! The rectangular shape has led us to come up with a new signature closure: the sliding lid. The principle is simple: Place the lid on the drum and press down the lever so that the inner lid with rubber gasket is clamped onto the drum:
