What are Clive Owen and Naomi Watts doing with our drums?

By Marc Martens

For considerable time now , my mind is programmed to recognize cylinder shaped white and red forms. Whether on- or off-line, at home or travelling, in the media or in life, I’m always scouting. Last night, I was pleasantly surprised – again.

I was watching “The International”, a gripping political thriller about an Interpol agent and an American district attorney (played by Clive Owen and Naomi Watts) who investigate corruption within a powerful  bank, when all of a sudden I saw some all too familiar Wide Neck Drums lined up in, what was supposed to portray, a forensics lab at a police station.

To see our drums in that particular setting wasn’t all too surprising to me. In this case, they were probably randomly picked props. However, in real life, CurTec drums find their way to lab environments all the time, protecting valuable chemicals and pharmaceuticals from moisture, light, and other influences – and maybe, sometimes, even help solving crimes.
