CurTec has expanded its production facility again. The packaging company wants to realize further growth in the near future and requires more space to increase its productivity and improve the service level to customers. Investments have been made to create new areas for quality management, enlarge the production surface and procure machines.
Expansion of production was necessary to be able to realize CurTec's growth strategy. The existing location offered sufficient possibilities for expansion and therefore, after thorough evaluation and extensive research, the choice was made for infill: create extra production capacity within the existing walls.
To make room, the areas where UN tests and quality measurements take place have been relocated and refurbished in accordance with current standards. Quality assurance is a measurement inspection and takes place at set times in line with production. The new location of the quality control area has been chosen according to function. Although UN tests are production-related, they do not have to take place in proximity to production and will take place in a different location of the site.
The infill has created space for additional blow molding and injection molding machines with which CurTec can realize its growth ambition in the coming years. In January 2021, the first new blow molding machine - which is dedicated for the production of Square Drums - will be delivered and installed.
Neither business processes nor product quality and cleanliness have been affected by the expansion activities.
