Change control: Wide Neck Drums
September 1st, 2016
The following information is intended for all of our valued customers who have purchased Wide Neck Drums (7000 series). As part of our change control protocol, I would like to inform you about two matters. We will be affixing a material track code to the bottom of the drums and we will only continue to use the EPDM rings for the seal in the lid.
CurTec is introducing a material clock. The material clock is a configurable clock that shows the materials used. Each letter of the clock corresponds to a specific material. These letters together with the respective materials are described in the UN certificate. The container moulds will be adjusted in October. The material clock will be placed on the bottom of the container.
Changes to rings
As we informed you by e-mail on 1 April 2015, CurTec uses two possible materials for the seal in the lid, namely natural rubber and EPDM. In October, CurTec will cease production of lids with a natural rubber ring and will only use EPDM rings from then onwards. To increase the reliability of our supplies, CurTec has chosen a second supplier for the EPDM rings. The Specification of Used Materials and Declaration of Compliance are available on request from the Sales Support department.
Please read this information carefully. If you require any additional information in order to introduce this change into your quality system, please contact us before 1 October 2016. If you do not reply by this date, CurTec will assume that you have formally accepted these changes.
From October 2016, these changes will be incorporated into the production of all Wide Neck Drums.
