Change control: Click PackY

November 1st, 2016

The following information is intended for all of our valued customers who have purchased Click Packy 6 Litre containers (4406). As part of our change control protocol, I would like to inform you about a design change to this container which will be effective as per December 1st , 2016.

Ever since we started producing the Click Packs 6 litre, we faced a steady demand for a version with a handle. Such a handle makes carrying, lifting and handling easier for users. In order to be able to fit such a handle, the container needs fixation points.

We modified the container mould of the Click Packy 6 litre container so we have the possibility to mount a handle. The container will permanently have a hole in the handgrips on both sides. This change applies to all 6 litre Click Packy containers produced after December 1st , 2016.

This change does not influence  the performance or closing mechanism.

The following information is intended for all of our valued customers who have purchased Click Packy.  As part of our change control protocol, I would like to inform you about the introduction of a material track code, the introduction of a second supplier for the material of the integrated seal and an alteration to the UN engraving on the 6 litre Click Packy (4406).

Material clock

CurTec is introducing a material clock. The material clock is a configurable clock that shows the materials used. Each letter of the clock corresponds to a specific material. These letters together with the respective materials are described in the UN certificate. The container moulds will be adjusted in April. The material clock will be placed on the bottom of the container.

Second supplier of materials for integrated seal
In order to better guarantee the delivery reliability in the future, we have chosen a second supplier for the TPE of the integrated seal. The “Specification of Used Materials” and the “Declaration of Compliance” for contact with food have been extended with this new material. The “Specification of Used Materials”, “Declaration of Compliance” and samples are available on request through Inside Sales.

Modification of the UN engraving on the 6 litre Click Packy (4406)
At present, the UN engraving on the 6 litre Click Packy refers to the test institute that used to certify the UN tests. The letters TCPI stand for T&C Packaging International. CurTec has chosen to no longer include the names of the test institutes in the UN marking.

The UN engraving will from now on be UN 1H2/X6/Y9/Z14/S/--/ NL/CURTEC-130556 instead of UN 1H2/X6/Y9/Z14/S/--/ NL/TCPI-CURTEC-130556. In doing this, the marking on the product will once again correspond to the UN certificate. The product data sheet has been amended to this. The UN certificate is available on request through Inside Sales.

May 1st, 2015

The following information concerns all our valued customers who buy or intend to buy Click PackY. As part of our change control protocol, I would like to inform you about a planned change of raw material used for containers and lids and a change of raw material used for the integrated gasket.

Raw material change
The EU legislation (EC 10/2011) on materials for food contact is about to change. As of January 1st 2016, all plastic packaging materials must comply with newly defined overall migration limits. CurTec wants its packaging products to comply with the new food contact regulation. Recent analysis however showed that we cannot achieve that goal to our satisfaction with all our raw materials and colorants.

That is why CurTec has changed the composition of several colourants and has added alternative raw materials and colourants in order to be able to maintain the reliability of our supplies. We have satisfied ourselves that products manufactured from these materials meet all technical and quality requirements.

CurTec also decided to select new raw materials for the manufacture of the integrated gasket because we cannot guarantee that the current material will comply with the new regulation. We have already approved one material and are testing a second one. As soon as it has been approved, you will be notified.

For your reference, I have made a detailed summary of all relevant technical data, available certificates and other background information. Please be aware that the lay-out of and information on the product data sheets has been updated. The packaging units remain unchanged but no longer appear on the product data sheet.
