A clean solution for all batteries
Inobat is there for you
Used batteries are a huge source of valuable materials that can be recycled. Inobat (Interessenorganisation Batterieentsorgung) contributes to the preservation of natural resources by recovering these materials through recycling.
Used batteries are considered special waste in Switzerland. Consumers are obliged by law to return them to a point of sales or other collection point. Retailers also have a legal obligation to take back any spent battery which means that they can be returned without charge anywhere where batteries are sold. This alone created more than 11,000 collection points in Switzerland within…
• Retail
• Department stores
• Photo, electronics and mobile phone shops
• Newspaper stands, gas stations, etc.
Inobat supports retailers in collecting batteries with, among others, a plastic 6 litre collection drum manufactured by CurTec. The collection drums provided by Inobat are also available to the public.
Inobat has chosen the 6 litre drum because of its attractive design, but at the same time complies with all transport legal requirements. A plastic drum is cleaner to use than for cardboard packaging with the added protection that leaking batteries can be contained within the plastic drum. This will ensure no harm is done to the environment. The 6.4 litre capacity was chosen because a filled drum can still be handled in an acceptable way according to Health & Safety laws on maximum weights to be lifted by personnel.
The drum bears a three-colour print with the slogan Inobat uses on its website and within the Swiss media: ‘Batteries and car batteries should be returned!’
